I asked my wife on this one, since I pay no attention to such details when I get around to actually riding the Savage.
She thinks you should take it in and get it checked. Here is why: 1- defective foam; 2- stretched seat cover; 3- too small seat cover causing the foam to bunch up, and the cover to wrinkle over it.
Good luck. I would think it has to be one of those choices. The seat cover on ours is OK, as is that on the 82 GS750T (air cooled Suzuki 4 cylinder, think Katana/GoldWing cross) I ride on longer trips.
By the by, upholstery is usually NOT covered under new bike warranties, unless it is truly a manufacturing defect. Just thought you might want to know. Also, if the dealer won't fix it, I can give you some pointers, I do reupholstery on bikes.
